ST GEORGE’S PARENT FORUM

At St George’s, we value open communication between our school and parents. The goal of our Parent Forum is to be representative of the views of all parents and to be a voice to inform the school of the needs of our children and families. It is a valuable way to share ideas, views and concerns and to make suggestions for improvements.

The St Georges Parent Forum has four broad aims which are also set out in its terms of reference [insert link].

  1. To work together to improve the learning and welfare provided for our children.
  2. To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all parents and carers.
  3. To share information, knowledge and skills.
  4. To further improve communications between Parent/Carers and Staff/Governors.

All parents and carers are welcome to volunteer to join the Parent Forum with one representative being selected at random to represent each year group on an annual basis. The Forum reports to the Governors once each year on its activities on behalf of all parents.

The Parent Forum currently has the following representatives:

Year 7 – Sarah Gray

Year 8 – Elizabeth Cowan

Year 9 – Lorry Edwards

Year 10 – Rachael Roy

Year 11 – Susanna Collins

Year 12 - Janet Dyson

The members can be contacted at parentforum@stgeorges.herts.sch.uk. The Forum meets on a half termly basis to discuss agenda items such as school transport, healthy food and parent school communication.  If you wish to raise something for discussion at one of the meetings, please contact your year representative at this email address.

The Forum cannot discuss concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff. Agendas and minutes of the meetings can be found at the link below.
