You will be aware that on Tuesday 1st to Thursday 3rd of November 2016 the boarding provision at St Georges underwent a routine social care inspection which was carried out by OFSTED. You can find a copy of the inspection report by following this link: https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/CARE/SC061220
I am delighted with the outcome of the inspection and I am indebted to all of the people who were involved in the process. This includes residential staff, teaching staff, the senior leadership team, the governors, you the parents and, of course, the boarders who made the inspectors feel very welcome in their respective houses but also who spoke openly and honestly about their boarding experiences. The comments are too numerous to single any out but I am personally pleased by the number of remarks which are indicative of the supportive, warm and homely environment of boarding at St Georges as well as by the comments about the quality of the relationships that exist within our boarding community.
As is always the case, we aim to learn and strive to improve through the experience of such an inspection and in the coming weeks and months we will be continuing to explore the overall dining experiences of boarders as well as reviewing the availability of tuck via our house tuck shops. If you have any questions, observations or comments about the inspection report then please do get in touch with me either via email or telephone.
