Catering

St George’s School is fortunate enough to be able to offer a first class catering service to the school community as well as external clients.

The catering team at St George’s is led by Simon Blackwoodl and is made up of 5 talented chefs and 7 hard-working kitchen assistants who come from a diverse catering background and who work to ensure that our students and staff are well looked after during the school day.

The catering team provide 3 meals a day for the boarding community. Breakfast club, break and lunch service for all students and staff. In addition to this we provide the catering for many after school events, summer lettings, canapé receptions and weddings etc.

Our breakfast club is available from 8am to 8.30am and is available to staff and students who may be in school before the academic day starts. Where they have the choice to purchase hot and cold breakfast items.

At break time students have the opportunity to buy a wide range of snacks including popcorn, biscuits, yogurts, fresh fruit salad, and fruit juices.

We offer our students a healthy, balanced diet. At lunch time they have a choice of three freshly prepared hot meals using local sourced produce, along with a jacket potato and pasta bar, homemade soup, a full salad bar and an extensive range of sandwiches and wraps. For pudding we have a selection of hot and cold deserts, yogurts and fresh fruit.

We recognise that our sixth form are young adults so we offer them their own facilities in the refectory where Claire and Lisa provide a snack style service from 8am till 3pm daily. Staff and sixth form students can purchase Tchibo coffee and hot chocolate, fresh juice along with sandwiches, pastries, cakes hot wraps, jacket potatoes etc.

All our food complies with the new nutritional standards which are advertised clearly on the daily menus allowing students to make choices of their own.

We operate a cashless system, using biometrics. This allows parents to see what their child is purchasing; set spending limits etc. and give the students the opportunity to purchase food without the necessity to be carrying money around.

Whilst catering for our school community is our prime role, we also offer our services for after school events and externally.  This may be providing food and drink for a PSA event such as Burns Night, the Sixth form May ball, or for an event unconnected to the school such as weddings and drinks and canapés receptions. We are always happy to discuss any catering needs that you may have.

In everything that we do we strive to offer the finest quality, tasty meals and excellent service.
