Sport

Sport is central to life at St George’s School. It can be anything from taking part in recreational sporting activities in the evening and at weekends to representing The School playing rugby or lacrosse. It can also be everything in between. Many students take GCSE PE so for some it is more than just a pastime. Those who do represent The School at the highest level are fortunate enough to compete nationally as well as against more local sides and train both before and after the school day thanks to the team of highly dedicated PE Staff.

Even more students proudly represent their Houses in a wide range of sporting events. We also support our elite athletes, some of whom have gained international honours in sports such as girls’ football and skiing, as they pursue excellence yet also aim to keep a grasp on their academic studies. We feel sure that there will be many who will follow in the footsteps of current sporting stars such as Owen Farrell, George Ford, Maro Itoje and Laura Merrifield
